reminder sound

I can set my reminder sound to any of several wav files
(played by RealPlayer). I have some mid files I want to
use, and Outlook won't play them. Since mid files are
played by Microsoft's Media Player (which I have), what do
I need to set to have it play?
 
I don't think you can use any other sound file type besides WAV for Outlook
sounds.
