I have Outlook 2003 & WinXP Pro SR-2. Within the last couple of days, my
calendar reminders are 1 day off. In other words, it will say due in 1 day,
when it's actually 2 days away (2 days if it''s 3, etc.). I tried
Start/Run
Outlook.exe /cleanreminders
but that didn't help.

Any advice?

Are you syncing your calendar with a PDA? Regardless...make sure everything
involved is set to the right timezone with the right daylight savings time
setting.

Are they off a full 24 hours? Did DST start in your area over the weekend
and did the problem start sunday? If so, it might be related. Do you have
the new time zone definitions installed?

Daylight Saving started in US on Sun night... that may have caused it...
verify the time zone settings...

Thanks everyone for your responses. I do sync Outlook with my PDA, but both
have the correct time & date set. It may have started after daylight savings
time, I'm not sure. When you say "do I have the new time definitions
installed", I didn't install anything recently. Is there something I should
have installed?

Thanks again,

Phil

Some PDAs (WIndows Mobile 2003, for example) don't have any way to select the
DST setting, only the time zone. Microsoft issued patches for Windows Mobile
devices that updated the DST dates for the time zones so that they change on
the correct date for the specific time zone. If you didn;t apply the
appropriate update to your device, you'll see the symptoms you describe. If
you don't use a Windows Mobile device, the vendor of the hand-held's OS should
have issued similar updates.

Thank you for your response. I have a Dell Axim x30 Pocket PC. I looked on the
Dell site, but couldn't find any updates. The reminders on my PDA only remind the
day of; they've always worked that way. Only Outlook on my desk computer lets me
specify how far in advance I get reminders.

However, both the PDA & Outlook give today as Wednesday, March 11 & both the PDA &
my computer have the identical time. I did update in 2007, as a result of the
change made by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, but last year everything worked
fine.

I'm using ActiveSync 3.7.1 & the latest version is 4.5. Do you think that could
be the reason?

Hi Brian:
I tried to install the update from the link you provided. I got a message saying
that "another version of this product is already installed". I recall that I did
use MS Update to update the DST in March of 2008, but everything worked properly
since then. That was to correct a 1 hour difference with my PDA. But it was
March 2008 (the second Sunday), approximately, that I installed the previous
update.

Do you think that's what's causing the current problem? Should I uninstall the
previous fix & install the one from your link? I don't want to reintroduce a
problem with my PDA.

I do recall having to install a second TZ update to my WIndows Mobile device
after having installed the first one. It was reissued for some reason, I
thnk, but I've forgotten the circumstances now.
