Global 'reminders' turn off

We are using Outlook 2003. When we make a reminder to appear on a specific
calendar day, on the creation of the calendar reminder, there is an item
called 'reminder' that is checked by default, with a default time of 15
minutes. Is there a way to globally turn that item off so it always comes up
as being unchecked on the creation of a calendar reminder. That way we can
click on it if we want to create a reminder time.

Thank you.

Click Tools>Options. Uncheck "Default reminder".
