Remember Passwords not Working Right

Chuck Humphrey

I use WinXP and IE6 as my browser. User names and passwords are not
being stored properly. The help file in XP mentions that the
following two boxes should be checked:

"Select the Remember my password check box.
"Click Don't ask for this password again."

There is no "Don't ask for this password again" box for me to check.

Help!?

This fix applies to Outlook and other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and Autocomplete:

Thanks for your response. You point me toward solutions where Outlook
or Outlook Express are prompting me for passwords. However, my
situation involves IE 6, such as where I try to update a website from
FrontPage 2003, which I assume does not involve Outlook. Am I missing
something? Should I go ahead and use the "dougknox" fix for Outlook
anyway?
