Relocating DC to Another Branch Office

Hi

I have a simple query. We are about to acquire a new
branch office. In prepration, I plan to build a new Win2K
DC for the branch at our head office and join the
existing domain. Once the branch office is networked with
a link to our head office, can I simply relocate the DC
to the branch and modify the NIC settings or do I have to
demote the DC first, relocate the server and then re-
promote it to DC so that AD is set up and replicated
properly?

TIA

Yes, you can setup on the HQ first. After all the data
replicated then change the NIC and make sure the new
settings replicated to all DCs (DNS records). The only you
move the DC to branch. Make sure you setup the AD link
between the 2 sites using AD Sites and Services.
