Reloading XP

I have a laptop which is licensed for XP Pro according to
the sticker on it with the product key. I was told that
any copy of XP Pro can be installed on the machine, as
long as that product key is used, however, XP is telling
mt that it is not a valid key. I have checked and re
checked it a dozen times. No success... Any help?

A. You were misinformed. Your OEM Product Key will only work
with your laptop manufacturer's restore CD. Contact their support
department and request a restore CD for your specific laptop model.
