Release Renew

My Xp laptop wont renew an IP evertime I try it says it
cant. I've unistalled and reinstalled the NIC And
unchecked and rechecked the network protocals. still wont
renew. and I've run an XP repair. please help.

Try it again and give us the full text error from start to finish.

Now it's not giving any info. When I go to the command
promt and run ipconfig just to view address info it comes
up with

"Windows IP Configuration"

and nothing else no ips or anything /Release and /renew do
the samething. Previously it was atleast giving a DHCP
error I belive
 
It could be that the network card isn't working correctly.
