Relative hyperlink paths in .mht files

Is anyone aware of a way to create a single-file web archive using the
..mht format out of Word that gets around the problem of hyperlinks with
relative paths embedded in the Word doc getting auto-changed into
hyperlinks with absolute paths in the mht file?

This bug has been around for years, so I'm hoping that perhaps someone
has come across a solution.
