Is it possible to create a relationship between two fields
if one has a two letter prefix and other doesn't.

I would like to keep the tables the way they are, but
getting Access to see the similarity doesn't seem to work.

No, you can't set up a relationship if the fields being related aren't the
same.

Do you mean the field name is different...or that the data in one field has
the 2 char prefix..and the other does not?

You can't enforce relationships...but you can certainly build queries..and
do joins based on those two fields. So, you can use the relational abilities
of sql to join the data together...but you certainly can't enforce
relational integrity...but then again..you might not need to.....
