Reinstalling XP

I installed an antiSpyware program that screwed up my
system so bad that I had to reinstall Windows XP (pro)
over a previously installed XP.

Now I can't find my Outlook Express address book or my
contacts in Outlook. Were they erased or overwritten
with the second install? I followed the instructions for
finding the address book when you upgrade to XP, but this
didn't help.

Unless you did a repair install, (it appears you didn't) you overwrote
all your programs and data. Your address book is gone along with any
other documents and updates. Be sure to download SP-1 and all
critical updates post SP-1.
