Reinstalling XP

B

bvkiran

This is my situation. I have a old hard disk which used to boot XP on
a AMD computer(IDE) and SCSI hard disk on the same computer.

Both hard disks are set to master. When I try to repair install XP, it
does not boot up at all.

This drive has two logical partitions. C and D. D has most of my data.
I CANNOT lose D(formatted as NTFS).

I am lost. What am I missing. Experts pls help.

When attempting to do a repair to xp,you need to boot to the xp cd,then
at info page select install xp,then select, repair this copy.If youre not
getting
anywhere, you need to adjust the BIOS settings.Open BIOS,then select in
boot options,or boot priority, then select the drive with xp cd to be 1st.
