Hi,

I've recently reinstalled windows XP while leaving my
previous version still installed as a second operating
system. When trying to download the critical updates for
the new installation tho the auto update site remembers
my previous versions download history and wont let me
download the updates from the start. Is there any way of
downloading all the updates outside of the auto update
system, or any way of resetting my download history? Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Colin.

Colin if you have two copies of windows xp (installed from the same cd) on
your system - obviously they are on separate partitions - you are breaking
your end user licence agreement. 'You may install, use, access, display and
run one copy of the Software on a single computer, such as a workstation,
terminal or other device("Workstation Computer").' This, I think is the
reason why your old install history is appearing. However you can download
updates from the Windows download center.
Alternatively you should obtain a cd of service pack 2 which has all the
latest updates.
