I have just done a System Recover on my HP after bcking up all my data
(including my Outlook.PST file).

I have also reinstalled Outlook 2003, but haven't been able to make that PST
file my default. I can add it to the default that Outlook creates, I want to
restore Outlook to its pre-recovery state.

How do I do this?

Joe,

I suggest that you move your recovered pst file in a folder under My
Documents for easy back up.
close Outlook. Search for all *.pst files, including those in hidden files.
Rename all that you find. Open Outlook, then choose Open from the File drop
down menu, then Outlook Data file. Browse to the location in the folder
created above.
