Reinstalling Display Feature Application

I'm running XP-Pro O/S. Somehow, I've lost the ability to
access display panel settings through the Control Panel or
by right-clicking on the screen background. Do I need to
re-install the O/S or is there a less invasive way to re-
install the specific files that handle the display setting?

Also, I've lost all my games that were originally
installed on the machine, e.g. internet hearts, hearts,
solitaire, etc.. Where would I look to see if these
files are actually gone? Is there an easier way to
restore the games, short of re-installing the O/S?

Games restoral.

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows
Components, Accessories and Utilities, Details...make
sure Games box is checked, if not, check it then check OK
and follow instructions.

Not sure about your Display problem. Do the icons on
your Desktop look otherwise normal?
