reinstallation

I have just replaced my hard drive and have placed the Dell reinstallation of
Windows XP into my computer. I reinstalled the software and allowed for the
basic drivers to be installed as well from a seperate disk. Now I was hoping
to find out how I can first off have the computer recognize my wireless card.
Also i was attempting to change the graphics resolution to 1024x768 with
32bit highest color quality; however the only option available is 16bit
medium, and 800x600. I am really lost and not even sure where to begin...
help please. Thank you very much.

Did Dell provide you with a Software CD with the necessary drivers on it?
There, you should find the Video and Network Interface Card drivers. Rt
click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Display Adapter
and Network
Adapter. There's probably a yellow mark next to each item. rt click and
choose update drivers. Follow the instructions.
You may have to point to where the drivers are located on the cdrom
drive.

Put the Dell Resource cd back in and reinstall your video drivers. If you
added a video card yourself and aren't using the one that came with your
Dell, get the drivers from the video card mftr.'s website - probably Nvidia
or ATI. Do the same for the wireless card. If this is a wireless card you
added yourself, get the drivers from the mftr.'s website.
