I still can't get some pages to open no matter what - competition pages,
bank pages etc. Cache is empty, security is low, firewall is disabled, dlls
are verified - the bloody thing just doesn't work.
How can I uninstall IE6 and reinstall? (OS is XP)

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do

I do run adaware on a daily basis but also just run spybot too. There were
only a couple of trackers on but deleted those anyway - but still can't open
banking/competition windows OR Windows update

Yes - updated both - said there were no updates for Spybot.
