Hi, I have installed windows xp over a previous edition of
Windows ME. However, I want to completely reinstall the
operating system, as the computer is infected with
viruses.

However, I only have access to the XP upgrade disk.
Please could you advise of a process to achieve a total
reinstall?

Kind Regards

David.

- Boot your machine with your WinXP CD. Change the
boot order in your BIOS if necessary.
- Allow the hard disk to be formatted when prompted.
You will, of course, lose all data.
- Insert the WinME CD when prompted.

Hi, thanks for that. However, my system only came with a
ME recovery disk. I have access to a full version of
Windows 95/98 - would that be sufficient?

Regards,

David.

Read the small print on your WinXP upgrade disk. If it says
that you can upgrade from Win98/WinME then you're OK.
