reinstall xp frozen

my system will not boot error message
WINDOS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM
is missing or corrupt

I have tried to reinstall xp but it freezes up at the set up screen, i have
pressed ENTER, R, AND F3 and none of those options go forward.

Reinstalling may not help with that specific problem. Instead, you should
follow the steps here:

I've had this work well a number of times.
