Reinstall windows 2000

Is there a way to reinstall win2k without loosing anything? I cant do
"In-place-Upgrade" because I cant even get to the GUI.

I will Appreciate any help.

Hi Ariel,

Boot with the CD. Proceed with setup. The first time you are asked to
repair or install, choose install. After the license agreement you will be
prompted with a option to "repair" again. This time you need to choose
"repair." This will perform an in-place upgrade.

NOTE: You will need to reinstall Service Packs and hotfixes after an
in-place upgrade.
