Hi, when I tried to run regedit I got an error
message "registry editing is disabled by your
administrator" Any one knows what might be the problem? I
had virus before but now is all gone.
I am runing windows xp prof.

Thanks.

I know this may sound obvious but are you shure you are
signed in as an administrator?

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Look in the right pane for a value called DisableRegistryTools. If it
exists it should be set to 0. If it isn't, double click
DisableRegistryTools and set it to 0. If it doesn't exist, right click in a
blank area of the right pane, select New, Dword value and name it
DisableRegistryTools. Leave it at 0.
