Registry recovery

H

Haim Guivon

On any startup, I get the black screen of options. I choose "start windows
normally", and the computer starts, but then a window pops up called:
"registry recovery", containing the following message:
"One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered
by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful". After OK I
can go on working normally.

Now, this happens every time I start the machine. What can I do?

Thank you very much,

Amalia

This sounds like it could be a shutdown problem. If the system is not
shutting down gracefully, some housecleaning tasks including updating and
unloading portions of the registry may not be happening as they should be.

Suggest trying the shutdown troubleshooter in XP's Help and Support or work
your way through the troubleshooting guide found at this site:
