Does anyone know what the key "NV Hostname" stand for in
windows XP and 2003 registry.

The key is located under
HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/services/tcpip/parameters

Thanks,

Thanks,

not sure about NV, but it is just the hostname the computer identifies
itself as on a network.

Hi,

NV Hostname is Next Value Hostname - this is the value your hostname will
be the next time the registry is read (reboot). If you change your hostname
and don't reboot the new hostname is stored here.
