Registry Problem

Every time I shut down and restart the computer I get the
following message..."One of the files containing the
system's Registry data had to be recovered by use of a
log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful." What
would cause this problem? How can I fix it? Thank you
very much.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for replying so quickly. The fact is that I
just built this computer. It has an Abit motherboard -
VIA chipset, with an Intel P-4 2.8gig processor. It has a
160gig Western Digital harddrive. I installed WinXP pro,
then installed the VIA 4 in 1 driver update, then
downloaded and installed all of the Windows updates. This
is when the problem started. I have searched thru the
multitude of Knowledgebase's and have found only 1 thing
that might be helpful. Microsoft suggests that I call
them and get a fix from them, but I really don't think it
is the same problem that the knowledge base describes.
I really see no reason for the error. Do you have any
further suggestions? Thank you,
Rick
