While I'm against cleaning the registry as a regular event (and you
should always ensure there is a restore point to hand, in case), a
product that is in late Beta and is free (at any rate at the moment) is
RegSeeker at http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
I would only use the registry clean section, and review what it suggests
before selecting things (and hitting Delete), but several of us have
tried, found that it has removed a great deal (maybe needing multiple
runs to find them all) and have had no trouble as a result, even when
using Select all..
