registry issues

I installed a new hard drive and used Data Lifeguard to
copy old drive to new one. The xfer was successful and the
system is running. After running WinDoctor, it reports the
following registry problems:
Invalid ActiveX/COM Entries (11 problems, 2 ignored)
Invalid File extensions (4 problems)
Invalid Help files (5 problems)
Invalid Shortcuts (16 problems, 16 ignored)
Missing Program (2 problems) files missing are mscoree.dll
and gapi32.dll.
I don't know how to determine what needs to be replaced or
repaired and how to do that. Any experience with these
issues?

The simplest answer is to ignore it all if everything works. Never
have and never will use Windoctor here. I don't even know what
WinDoctor would do to "fix" it. Probably just remove the entries.
(guessing)

_An_ answer is to let it fix everything and _hope_ it all still works
after. A full registry backup in advance would be prudent.

My only other answer is (sorry) way more advanced than the typical
WinDoctor user is likely prepared for. Manual verification of the
specifics and severity of each noted "problem", making an informed
and experienced decision on a case be case basis. I myself would
have problems analysing "ActiveX/COM" entries, but at the other end
of the scale, an invalid shortcut will announce itslf to you next
time you try to use it and may even self-correct.

I don't know it this was at all helpful. Others may post.

I use windoctor all time. I have had it fix some buggy computers. Let windoctor fix your problems and get rid of the dead wood in your registry. By the way, these problems were there before swapping out your drives. Data life gaurd didn't cause them.
