Registry file (.reg) Validator

Hi,

Does anybody know whether there's a tool (or API) that can be used to
validate a .reg file to make sure that the formatting is correct etc.
I've been searching the web/newsgroups for a while without any
success.

I have been using RegCleaner (4.3.Build 780) for years.
It's still available here:

I have never had any problems with it, either on Win98SE or on
Win2000SP4.

Nevertheless, just to be safe, backup you existing registry before
you mess with it.
