registry export ok : import=invalid

Hello folks,
I have recently tried exporting a branch from the
registry and immediately added a line in a batch file
to "reg import filename.reg". (I've done this before.)
For some reason, I now get "Error: Invalid file format"
from the batch file. I have not edited the registry file.
Any ideas? Please?
