Hi

Could you please post the Stop Code from the BSOD - the number before the
brackets?

according to the site, I have to contact microsoft for help, but when i did,
it asked for Product ID# which can only be accessed by logging on to windows,
which I can't do. Is this a way to fix this without the product ID#?

They want the Product Key number that is on a sticker on the computer
or, if you bought retail, on a bright orange sticker on the retail CD
package.

No, it says Product Identification number, & last I checked, that's different
than the product key, so if possible, could someone tell me a way to get to
product identification number without having to log on to my username?

Did you speak to a human so you could tell them you can't get the
Product ID#?

1. Can you get into Safe Mode?
2. Log on with another account?
3. Try Last Known Good Configuration?

You could boot with a rescue system like a Bart's PE and look at this
registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
Listed under ProductID

I also don't see in any of those articles where you need to contact MS
for a hotfix. The STOP: 0x00000051 is an I/O error that resulted in a
corrupted registry.

If you can't boot Windows at all, how are you going to install the
hotfix anyway? If you haven't tried Last Known Good Configuration,
that's your next step. If that doesn't work, then these articles may
help:

You may also have hardware issues which are the root cause of the
problem. I would check the RAM and the hard drive.
