Registry edits for MSOCache folder/file locations

I've got a simple one (I hope) - I'm running XP Prof with all the updates
etc. and have 2 internal hard drives - one is C:, the other is split into
multiple logical partitions; I don't ever load a diff op system from one of
the partitions (none installed either).

I recently used an external, USB drive to make a duplicate of my C: and to
backup my installed apps in a different partition. The problem is that this
drive, logical label F:, was plugged in when I installed updates to my Office
Prof 2003 apps. Now everytime I want to Clean & Repair or install other
Office components the installer looks for Drive F: before proceeding. Then
gives me an error and terminates the operation unless I plug the external HD
into a USB port.

I've tried deleting the MSOCache folder I found on F: I also tried a full
re-install of Office Prof but neither worked. I also took a look at my
registry with Regedit, searched for all references to drive F:, and tried to
delete them but still have the same problem.

What can I do next?
