One of my students is receiving the message "Registry
editing has been disabled by the administrator" when she
tries to open Regedit. I can't find the solution. Any
pointers would be appreciated.

The reason is self explanitory. Unless you are the administrator, I would
not want my students in the registry either

One important item, is she on a system that is controlled by an
Administrator or is this her own, stanalone computer? There are several ways
to disable the registry editor.

She is on a standalone computer where she is the
administrator. We were attempting a minor Registry edit
in the lab. Everyone else was able to access the
Registry Editor. When she either ran (via the Run
command) or double clicked on the .exe itself she
received the stated message. I checked permissions and
made a quick scan through the policies but did not detect
anything.
