If it's not a startup shortcut, have a look in the registry at HKLM
\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Run -- there's probably a value under that
key causing it to run.
our windows 98 registry is HKEY. what's the value for 'no
start on boot-up'? and do we put it in current user, local machine
and/or users folder? thanks. don mattern
