Registry Edit Problems

I am the only user and system admin of my pc. Yet when I try to run reg edit xp says "registry editing has been dsiabled by your system administrator" anyone know how i can remove this error? thanks. e-mail me it asap to

go to safe mode: F8 on boot. Open as administrator. Locate the files, regedit etc and grant permission to the folder you need1
