After downloading and using a couple of free registry cleaners, I found that
an installed program--American Heritage Dictionary--would not open. When I
tried reinstalling it I got this notice: 16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the
application.
I tried System Restore but none of the restore points worked. Any ideas
aside from a format, which, because of the number of applications I have,
takes about eighteen hours to perform. If I have to do a format, where can
I find easy to use instructions for that procedure.
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to give.
