Registry changes - now web pgs won't load

Due to an infiltration of spyware prgms, I made some changes to th
registry. I tried to remove spyware with my Trend Micro and SPybot
but the viruses kept returning, so I followed the instructions fro
Trend Micro website & made changes to the registry. Now some (onl
some) web pages won't load. I tried to do a system restore, but th
restore point I want is no longer there. What are my options? Do
re-install XP? Can I install without loosing all the rest of ou
settings & programs? I am reasonably cptr savy, but re-installin
seems a bit overwhelming!

Do you remeber the name of what you were trying to remove or have the
address of the Trend Micro page?

Look at the listings in %windir%/system32/drivers/etc/HOSTS (no file
extension)

Put a # sign in front of any line listing those sites (if they are listed)

Spybot S&D is ecellent, but it will not find everything, you need more than
one anti scumware program.

I use all of these.

Download, install, run, update and run again; one or all. They are all
good, FREE utilities. Make sure you update every program, even if you
just downloaded it. You must have the latest updates. Without updates,
you have a gun without ammo. You also need to use more than one
anti scumware program. One program will *not* catch everything.
