Registry cannot load...

M

Mark

On a clean HDD install of Win 2000 Pro after about 2 weeks
of use I get this message (this is the third time) that
sends my computer into reboot cycle that does not end:

Registry connot load the hive(file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its alternative
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

This message appears whether I load a lot software or very
little. Troubleshooting on startup does not help me either.

You have installed a piece of software that has Corrupted
the software file, or been into the registry and corrupted
the file from here. Possibly rinstall windowws and fix the
files but would sugest a full clean rebuild and note what
you are installing
