Registry Back Up and Restore?

That is the best and easiest way to back up and restore Windows XP Registry? I am always reading that one should back up their Registry etc, but cannot find prodcedures to do so.

In XP you create or restore a "system point." Start | Programs |
Accessories | System Tools | System Restore ...it's there

Open the registry C:\WINNT\system32\regedt32.exe
highlight my computer
in the file menu, click export.

If you need to restore, click on import and chose the
name you named the export.

It is backed up each day as part (major item) in making the days System
Restore point. Using that is preferred because it ensures that any
changes to system components are kept in step. As an auxiliary backup
