I installed Windows XP Home Edition on a notebook
computer with a Pentium 11 400 Mhz, 128 Mb of ram. I felt
that unless i upgrade to at least 256Mg of ram the system
ran too slow. I subsequently uninstalled XP and
reinstalled 98SE and it runs much faster. MY question is
how do I "unregister" XP so that I can use it on another
computer?

You dont, you just install it on the other computer, at activation time, if
you already activated it prior on another computer, you'll be prompted to
call ms and tell them what you did and they will activate you.

Provided it was a retail and not one of the OEM' copies that are
licensed solely to the machine where first installed, there is no need.
Install on the second one. When it comes to activation, you may find it
will go through on the net anyway - if more than 120 days since you last
did it certainly will. If not, you will have to phone a toll-free
number that will be given, to explain and swap one long number for
another to check back as you type it in
