regional settings and dates

Is it necessary or can you program Access to check a user's regional settings
and then adjust as necessary to have dates displayed as desired. Some users
dates are not displayed as desired because of user's regional settings.

Not recommended. Changes in the Windows Regional Settings will affect the
OS and (likely) all other software applications (at least Microsoft's).

Much better to simply set the Format Property of the Controls that display
the date values in Access.
