NT4 workstations do not support dynamic update. If you are using a Windows
2000 DHCP server for your NT4 workstations, you can configure DHCP to
register for them.

NT4 won't register itself but DHCP can be configured to register the NT4
boxes.
In order for DHCP to register it needs option 006 set to the DDNS server
only and option 015 with the domain name. You also need to enable DHCP to do
DDNS on the DNS tab of the scope properties.
