Regedit question

After removing a program I got the following alert:

Unable to delete registry value
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ProxyOverride'

From Run > Regedit I got to the Registry Editor and found the
particular key and intended to ask here before doing anything. Now,
however, when I looked again that particular key is not there, instead I
see a ProxyEnable key. What happened? Did Windows corrected the problem
by itself?

Well ... did the error message go away?

that was never installed in this XP.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

What was the program you removed?

Britannica, but a little old version: In order to make it work I would
have to uninstall the current and install an older version of Java and I
would also have to change a Registry key...
