regedit problem

when i goto run regedit it opens and closes straight away this also happens when i run every other program. Anyone got any ideas? I have a w32 parite-b-worm and also a w32 pinif virus but am unable to install nortons antivirus 2004 due to a 1606 error ? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
