RegCleaner Won't Launch

Does anyone here use the utility RegCleaner? Lately, the program won't open
after I launch it. An hourglass icon appears by the mouse pointer for a few
moments and that's it. However, if I open the Task Manager, RegCleaner is
indicated as running. I'm using it with Windows XP Pro. Any suggestions
are greatly appreciated.

Hard to say exactly what the problem is, but I would try downloading and
installing a new copy to see if that helps. It's still available from
http://www.collina.us/files/ . It might be good to uninstall the existing copy
first.

Thanks for your reply. I uninstalled my present copy and installed the
second one from the site you suggested. Unfortunately it makes no
difference, RegCleaner still won't run.

Issue resolved - the problem turned out to be my processor, a Northwood P4.
It occurred to me that perhaps RegCleaner doesn't care for Hyperthreading.
I disabled it in BIOS and everything's fine again. RegCleaner is fantastic
freeware but the developer discontinued it, so I'll probably buy their
replacement product, assuming it supports Hyperthreading.
