regclean on XP ??

New computer:

I have the following version of regclean on my machine:
version 4.1a build 7364.1 of RegClean.EXE - which I
copied for my old machine.

Does this utility work properly on XP? (No SP2 yet).

Every time I run it, about once or twice a week, it finds
errors, which I let the utility "fix."

I didn't find this many errors when I ran it on my old
machine with Win95 osr2.

RegClean is not fully compatible with Windows XP
and should not be used. It is recommended not to use
any type of registry cleaner with Windows XP. However,
System Mechanic (www.iolo.com) has an excellent
registry cleaner /optimizer utility that is Windows XP
compatible. Stay away from those free registry cleaners
as they may cause registry corruption which may result
in rendering your PC unbootable.

Hi

The XP Registry looks after itself. Using any 'cleaner' - Micrsooft's or
not - can cause more harm than good and render a PC unbootable. I would
suggest that you let XP manage the Registry, just in case...
