Refresh Rate on Terminal Server

We are using Terminal Server 2003 on a relatively slow
line (60k). When using an application like Word, the
refresh rate is very slow. If you're a fast typist you
can type an entire sentance before it appears on the Word
screen. Is there anything we can tweak to improve the
performance?

Reduce the number of colors for your TS session. Disable themes,
bitmap caching and reduce your resolution size.

All configurable in the TS client OPTIONS button.
