I have a problem. I am trying to reformat my computer
that has Xp on it. I put the cd in and it reinstalled XP
over the one that was already on there but I actually
wanted it to delete everything that was on the drive
first.
Can someone tell me how to do this?
Thanks in Advance

You do it as part of a reinstall of the system after booting the XP CD
direct. Enter Setup, and after the license agreement take New Install.
When it asks you to confirm where, hit ESC; select and *delete* the
current partition and make a new RAW one to be formatted at the next
stage

That delete is the crucial point - without it you may well find the
format not performed, and a new base installation parked on top of the
old one
