reformatting with a different cd

I have the original cd key from my purchased windows XP cd on my computer's
case. However I think I have here the windows XP home edition which is for
another computer in the house. Before proceeding I want to make sure that
this won't be a problem, and I shall keep looking for the proper cd meanwhile.

I've recklessly accumulated a lot of malware and my computer is brutally slow.
