Reformatting Report From Landscape to Portrait

Using Access 98 Converted to 2000

I have been asked by my boss to change an existing report
that was created a few years ago by an employee that no
longer here. He hates the Landscape view and wants me to
make it Portrait View. I have deleted obsolete columns on
this report so everything now fits on a Portrait View.

My problem is this. In Design View, the page is set for
Landscape. I have moved all items over for Portrait but
cannot make the "width" of the report smaller. So when I
print, I have a blank page between each "real" page of the
report. Is there a place where the width is set? I've
tried using the mouse and making it smaller (Like in Excel
to make a column smaller or larger) but nothing happens
when I release the mouse.

Can someone help me with this. I've never come across
this problem before.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Debi,
First make sure the report has in fact been changed to Portrait.
In Report Design View, click File + Page Setup + Page.
Set the orientation to Portrait.
Save the change.
In Design View, drag the right edge of the report to the left.
If you cannot drag it far enough, it's probably because you have a
line or a control (usually a line) not allowing it to move past the
it.
Often the line is hidden by the section height control bar.

1) Make each section longer by moving the bar.
Look for any lines that are too long.
Make them shorter.
Or...
2)Click on the Object drop-down tool button.
Look for any line controls.
Click on each one in turn. It will be selected in the report.
See if it extends past the wanted right margin.
Make is shorter if it does.
There may be more than one line extending too far.

When you have every control placed within the new right margin, the
right edge can be easily dragged to the left.
Good Luck.
