i cut and pasted a paragraph into a word doc but the margins are narrow. i
want to adjust the paragraph to wider margins so it takes up less space. i
hoping to highlight the paragraph and hit a "justify" like key and have the
paragraph auto fit into the new wider margins. is there a function key or
tool that can do this in word 2003?

You don't mention *where* you cut from, but evidently not a Word document (a
web site, perhaps?) :-)

Apparently the content you cut/copied has hard line breaks in it which has
nothing to do with margins. Turn on the Non-Printing Characters ( ¶ ) and
you'll see symbols at the end of each line that need to be removed. If it's
just a few lines you can delete them manually, for a longer passage you can
use Find & Replace. Once they're gone the text will "wrap" based on your
current margin settings. For more info see:

thanks, i'll give it a try
