Reformatting a Hard Drive

I recently upgraded my Dell 8100 (P4 1.5ghz) from Windows ME to Windows XP Home. I recieved the XP upgrade almost 2 years ago as a free offer from Dell. Because my computer is almost 2.5 years old, I planned to do a New Instillation rather than upgrade so that my C Drive would be cleaned off. Its been filling with junk because of so much use. When the upgrade was complete, it did not erase any files as I had hoped. I now am hoping to reformat my hard drive (C) but I couldn't figure out how to on XP Home

How do I completly erase my hard drive then reinstall Windows if I am using Windows XP Home

Note- I converted my hard disk from FAT32 to NTFS durring the upgrag
- I want to re-install XP home after reformatting and not return to Mellinium Edition

Ryan;
Clean Installation
Disconnect all peripherals (camera, printer, scanner, etc)
Disconnect network/modem cable.
Go to BIOS and set CDROM as boot device before hard drive.
Insert Windows XP CD and reboot.
At "Press any key to boot to CDROM" quickly press a key and follow the
prompts for a Clean installation:

If you are installing using Windows XP Upgrade, insert qualifying
media in Step 4b.
Delete all partitions in step 5 if you desire to erase all data on the
hard drive.
Partitioning and formatting will be done automatically.
All data will be destroyed, back-up important data first.

Enable or install firewall BEFORE connecting network cable.

Install ALL Critical Windows Updates:
Start/All Programs/Windows Update

After you are finished, you will need to load the appropriate drivers.
