Refilling HP color cartridge

N

News

Hello,
I have just heard, from a person who has some experience in refilling
cartridges, that refilling all three colors at once can cause color-mixing
(not because of overfilling), and thus making the cartridge unusabe (color
cartridges for hp 690c and hp880c).
He gave me advice to refill only the color that is gone empty and not all
three.
However, I have just bought Ink-Tec refill kit and in instructions it says
nothing about filling only empty colors.

Does anyone know if this is true ?

As long as you avoid pooling of the 3 inks on the print head during filing,
it's fine. Just keep blotting the head on a paper towel during the filling.
All extra ink flows out through the head during filling, so if you see that,
then you know it's full to capacity.

I assume you're talking about the HP 78 or HP 23. We vacuum all the ink out
and then add 13ml of each color under vacuum. Our yield after refilling is
95% on the HP 78 but much lower on the hp 23. (due to loose print heads) We
test all cartridges prior to shipment. Most of all, we have less then 1%
failure in the field. An empty cartridges weighs 95ml. If you want a good
vacuum machine to refill these and all other cartridges, lookup Speedbrite
on the web. His machines are the most reasonable. Pete
